Happy Earth Day

Here's hoping that everyone will take a step towards a greener tomorrow. My contributions:
  • Taking public transit - everywhere, every day
  • Printing on the back of used paper at work. Works for all internal office documents
  • Carrying my travel coffee mug and water thermos instead of paper cups and plastic bottles
  • Always, always using cloth/reusable bags at shops and grocery stores
  • Upgrading our furnace, fridge and oven to greener models
  • Using less heating and AC by dressing warmer or lighter at home
  • Adding to my garden - both indoors and outside
  • Researching on recycling for every one of our household products - from batteries to bottles, electronics to eggshells!

After all, isn't all of this worth saving?

What are you doing for our planet?

good on you. Our Earth Day was last month. Remember: if your reusable shopping bags in super markets are like ours they are most probably made in China by unfairly paid workers in factories that emit carbon.

With recycling eggshells, apparently compost is the way to go. We're going to put one in our courtyard, and then use the compost in our garden.

PS: I LOVE the pictures.

@Anon - Do I know you? Or was this truly an Anon comment? Ironic that you mentioned the reusable bags - there was an article in today's Metro that said pretty much the same. See here: http://www.metronews.ca/toronto/Comment/article/218115
